Get a throw away email account, and create a new 'you'. Use one of the many free email services and set up an account with your new online personality.

WHY?
Regardless of what the privacy pages say on these services, somehow the email address you use to signup with will end up being flooded with unwanted spam email. Some may tell you up front that they provide your information to select vendors.

Just how much of the 'real' you do you want strangers to know?

You must have a valid e-mail address to use at signup that you can check now and then. You will need your password or other information sent from the free isps or other online source. So... A free email account is a real 'must have' to protect your privacy online. Just do a seach for "free email" to find one of the many still in service.
Be sure to send at least one email to activate your new account so you have a record of the new address, and to make sure it works.
